Murder suspects waive extradition in Pa. clerk murder case
Two Sabillasville teenagers waived extradition rights Wednesday and will be sent to Pennsylvania Friday to face charges in the shooting death of Gretchen Groff, 30, at Highs in Blue Ridge Summit. Jeremiah Reynolds, 17, and Clayton Faxon, 16, appeared in Frederick County District Court in blue jumpsuits as their families watched.

Lawsuit could scrap MARC site on Md 355 in Frederick
Frederick County property owners from Oyster Bay and Louisville challenge a 58 acre rezoning of Genstar Stone Products to general commercial claiming improper action by the county board. Man arrested in firebombing in subway blast
Edward J. Leary, 49, of Scotch Plains New Jersey, was arrested in his Cornell Medical Center hospital bed and charged with 45 counts including attempted murder and assault after a crude firebomb exploded in a lower Manhattan subway car. The Maryland Board of Public Works approved 409,925 for the 97 acre Shisler farm on the town edge and 186,419 for a conservation easement on the David A. Miller farm on Mountain Church Road west of Burkittsville. The Shisler site lies partly inside town and had been eyed for residential subdivision. Five Thousand Candles Light Resthaven Memorial Gardens
Resthaven Memorial Gardens held a candle memorial lighting with 5000 luminaries placed across about 30 acres to honor those buried there.
