Sewing Class Transforms Old Clothes Into New Dresses
At least six Frederick housewives in the Carver Apartments sewing circle reinvent old garments to outfit children for Christmas. Since October they have produced seven dresses, with Mrs June Scott crafting two red plaid outfits for her daughters Letty and Yarnet from older garments and Ruth Brown turning a blue and white check dress and an old sheet into a peddle pusher set for Ruth Ann. The group meets weekly at a resident’s apartment.
