Five Day Forecast Temps To Run 8 Degrees Below Normal

Two youths were sent to state correctional institutions by Chief Judge Patrick M Schnauffer in Juvenile Court. An 11 year old Frederick boy was sent to the Childrens Center at Catonsville for up to 30 days for breaking and entering and larceny. A 13 year old Frederick area Negro boy was committed to Boys Village at Cheltenham for stealing and self exposure with incorrigible behavior. The court waived jurisdiction over Albert James Joseph Myers Jr 17 and he will face trial in Magisterate Court on an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Independent Auto Jobbers Donate 865 To Easter Seal Center
The Independent Automotive Jobbers of this city pooled Christmas gifts and presented checks totaling 865 to the Easter Seal Treatment Center. Elliott Weinberg, center director, noted the group has now given about 3 000 to community causes over four years, with prior gifts to Frederick Memorial Hospital and Harmony Grove School for the Mentally Retarded Children. The 1962 selection was Easter Seal, followed again this year, with representatives from Automotive Industrial, Frederick Automotive, Callan and Cramer, E B Shipley Co, City Auto Parts, and Yingling and Son delivering the funds. The center, at the IOOF Home on North Market Street extended, serves crippled children and adults in therapy across three counties Washington Carroll and Frederick. Weinberg expressed delight over the gift, saying it will help expand care and that donors will be rewarded by seeing a child’s smile.

Frederick’s Santa FSK American Legion Toy Drive
The Fran cis Scott Key Post American Legion expects to have distributed about 6000 toys by Christmas Day. Last Sunday 175 to 200 requests were received for toy gifts. Volunteers wrap and prepare toys at the legion workshop behind 100 East Second Street. Donations from merchants and civic groups fill the supply, with most toys suitable for 1 to 3 year olds. Pickup and delivery are set for Christmas Eve, workshop hours start 8 a.m. The Edwin C. Creager Jr. Post 168 Thurmont will handle Thurmont district requests. A Salvation Army food basket program will also distribute about 210 baskets on Christmas Eve at West Fifth Street.
