Power lines linked to leukemia in Swedish studies
Swedish research presented at a conference links electromagnetic fields from power lines to higher leukemia rates. Children near lines with fields of 3 milligauss or more show 3.8 times expected incidence, while men exposed at work show a threefold rise in chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Researchers caution the overall risk is small and more study is needed.
