Six injured in I-70 two-truck crash near Braddock Heights
A Richmond family of six, in a rental truck, suffered critical injuries to the father William Hernandez Jr and two children Kanil Shahid Hernandez and Yaphet Verna Hernandez in an early morning crash on I-70 near Mt. Phillip Road. Mother Sarah Hernandez guarded and two younger sons Omar and Rahim Hernandez were hospitalized in satisfactory or guarded condition. A second driver Harold Horst declined treatment. The collision closed the eastbound lane for hours and investigators say the rental truck rolled after losing control. Ambulances and helicopters transported the injured to Frederick Memorial and Johns Hopkins and University Hospitals in Baltimore.
