Frederick man Russell Eugene Cole, 21, was shot once in the back in the Klitehart area south of West Fourth Street. He is in critical condition at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Police responded after two officers heard gunshots at 2 13 am. Witnesses are urged to call a special police number with any information.
