Tuscarora Water Returns to Frederick Mains
Water from Tuscarora Creek is again entering the city mains reducing Linganore pumping costs. Tuscarora and Fishing Creek flow now supplement mountain sources, with about two million of Frederick’s daily 3.5 million gallons from mountain and creek flows. Officials note improved rains may restore normal flow, turbidity briefly rose as Tuscarora was introduced, and a 10 million gallon Linganore storage pond could be used soon with new valves. The car washing ban was lifted by the Board of Aldermen.
