Detroit firm probed for military sales to Libya
A Detroit company Near East Trade and Development is under investigation for allegedly seeking to buy four wheel drive vehicles helicopters uniforms tents fragmentation vests and other gear to sell to Libya Syria and other Middle East nations. Federal rules ban many of these items for Libya and Syria while some, like uniforms and ambulances, may be allowed case by case.
