Suit Is Settled After Morning of Legal Technicalities
A $90 000 damage suit filed by Mrs. Helen Thrasher of Frederick over an auto crash on November 16, 1961 was settled out of court after a morning of legal technicalities. The undisclosed settlement amount was announced by Chief Judge Patrick M. Schnauffer as court resumed. the jury had not heard testimony and was dismissed. The suit alleged Thomas Russell Stine drove at excessive speed causing injuries to Mrs. Thrasher and later the death of her husband. The case split damages into 50 000 for injuries and 40 000 for loss of maintenance.
