Dr. Pearre Discusses Frederick Memorial Hospital History
Dr Austin Pearre addressed Frederick Lions Club at the Francis Scott Key Hotel on “Our Frederick Memorial Hospital Yours and Mine.” He traced the hospital’s origins from 1897, praising Emma J. Smith and the Woman’s Auxiliary, noting seven donated lots and $8,300 to launch a 25‑bed facility in 1902. He contrasted past costs and stay lengths with modern increases and highlighted gifts totaling over $60,000 and major expansions.
