Three Miners Killed in Runaway Slope Crash at Kingston

Wilkes-Barre Pa December 12 Three Kingston Coal Co miners were crushed in Edwardsville after a slope car shift failed and a coupling broke. Benjamin Davis John Washkis and Peter Pedo died while a fourth miner was seriously injured. Davis was decapitated and wreckage tore 75 feet along the slope.

U. S. Sailor Killed at San Juan After Row

In San Juan Puerto Rico on December 12 the navy says Costello of the Wasp was shot by police after a clash with sailors. Hibbs of the Wasp faces district court for assaulting Police Lieutenant Cabreria who was bruised. Navy men condemn the shooting as unwarranted.

Cuban Protocol Signed At Havana Dinner

President Palma hosted a palace dinner in Havana for General Bliss. The commercial treaty protocol with the United States was to be signed after the dinner by General Bliss with Secretary of State Zaldo and Secretary of Finance Montes.
