The National Industrial Conference ended in New York with a packed hall and lively debate on Industrial Aliements. Mix Up in Indiana Judgeship Causes Adjournment

In Washington on December 11 a curious situation arose as A B Anderson of Crawfordsville was appointed and confirmed as United States district judge of Indiana. Judge John H Baker, the outgoing judge, adjourned a damage case after declaring Anderson his successor, though Justice Department rule and oath qualification left Baker technically still in office and able to proceed with the trial.

Murdered Overseer Shot in Parlor at Charlotte New York

Thomas Wilson, an overseer, was shot dead in his Charlotte home Tuesday night by Arthur L. Bishop, a traveling salesman from Petersburg, Va. Bishop fled and has not been captured. Wilson had ordered Bishop to leave prior to the quarrel that led to the fatal shooting.

Will of Benjamin Barge Leaves Yale $80,002

Tamaqua Pa December 11 By the will probated in Carbon county court yesterday the estate of the late Benjamin Barge of Mauch Chunk includes a $50,400 bequest to Yale University. Of this amount $75,900 funds a romance languages and literature chair and $5,000 income supports scholarships. Additional bequests of $5,000 to St Luke's Hospital at South Bethlehem Pa and $2,509 to Lafayette College at Easton Pa are noted.
