Record tree sales for Yale predicted
Americans will buy a record number of live and artificial trees this year amid higher prices. John Koch of Birdsboro Pennsylvania and head of the National Christmas Tree Assoc notes wholesale costs rise about 5 percent and artificial trees about 7 percent above 1975 levels. Live trees remain popular for the pine scent and tradition, with about 27 million expected to be sold, similar to recent years.
