Frederick considers off street parking authority proposal
The Frederick Chamber of Commerce pushes a charter amendment to create an Off-Street Parking Authority for the city with five members appointed by the Mayor. Terms stagger over five years, with initial term lengths set to ensure yearly appointments, and no compensation for members. A quorum requires a majority, and vacancies are filled by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. The plan envisions volunteers from the Chamber to serve without pay.
