Negro Deserter Killed in Nueva Ecija by Native Scouts
Native scouts in Bengabon Nueva Ecija killed and decapitated the American deserter David Fagan of the Twenty fourth Infantry who led Filipinos against U S troops for over two years. Three human patients a middle aged man a middle aged woman and a 10 year old boy showed spasms and convulsions after infection but recovered within five to six days. The engine and tender separated and a devastating wreck followed with baggage and express cars hurled into a culvert and burned. The Atlanta sleeper burned with passengers aboard. Julia Boynton of Columbia, Ga was killed and twenty eight people were injured, some seriously. The Walter Main circus troupe was among the passengers.
