In Moundsville West Virginia on December 7 a two section freight train collided with fatal results. Conductor J C Kelley of Marietta was killed and the wreck ignited burning his head arms and legs. One engine and ten cars were demolished.

A plan to unite U S furniture manufacturers into a single organization to regulate prices and control output was discussed at a meeting of the Middle States Furniture Association in York Pennsylvania. Chicago was suggested as headquarters with 35 large firms from New York Pennsylvania and New Jersey represented. A majority approved the idea and expected ratification before adjournment.
