Baking Soda New Weapon For Fighting Pollution
Dr. Alvan A. Barach proposes baking soda as an air cleaner that neutralizes sulphur dioxide and sulphuric acid in rooms and humidifiers. A 2 percent solution sprayed in rooms could protect occupants for hours, with daily solution changes and more frequent use if air is open. He suggests plane dispersal as a citywide measure, supported by Dr. Amos Turk and Dr. Hylan A. Bickerman in related research.

Other tips include repurposing an ironing board for gift wrapping, using cardboard tubes to organize light strings, packaging homemade candy and cookies in clear-topped boxes, and delivering gifts in a large green bag for easy handling.
