Christmas Vespers At Hood Sunday At Hood College Coffman Chapel
The Hood College Christmas Vesper service returns this Sunday at 7 30 pm in the new Coffman Chapel. The program features carols and hymns sung by the choir with two scriptural readings by Dr. Andrew Truxal. The first double chorus includes Hallelujah In dulci jubilo Ave Maria and The Angels and the Shepherds with a split choir portraying angels and shepherds.

Wreckage Sought From Seamaster Bay Test Flight
Salvagers sought to recover from Chesapeake Bay the wreckage of a Martin Seamaster jet seaplane after a test flight near Baltimore. Four aboard included Maurice Bernhard and Merbert Scudder of Maryland, James Heni schel of Baltimore, and Lt. Cmdr. Victor Atgoff of Piney Point. An unidentified body attached to a parachute was recovered. witnesses noted heavy black smoke before the craft exploded.

Navy seaplane SeaMaster crash reported near Chesapeake Bay
A blast and sea plane crash occurred about 70 miles southeast of Washington where the Potomac meets the Chesapeake Bay. The SeaMaster, the Navy's first long range experimental seaplane, debuted last January and flew July 14. It wowed Adm Burke and Adm Meurhatten in Baltimore. Its missions include minelaying and photo reconnaissance. another SeaMaster has been built but not yet owned.
