200 000 Tons of Rock Falls From Niagara Falls
A massive 200000 ton rock fragment broke from Table Rock of the Canadian Falls at Niagara Falls New Jersey and dropped into the gorge late last night altering the cataract for the second time in five months. The block measured roughly 50 to 60 feet long and about 100 feet wide. It was part of a viewing sector used by sightseers.

Drunks chained to poles over fines in Paintsville scene
In Paintsville Kentucky three men who refused to work off fines for drunkenness were chained to power line poles on Main Street. Town Marshal Jess Allen bound them with log chains and attached two 25 pound iron balls to each, under orders from Police Judge R A Patrick.
