Omission from the sixth grade honor roll for Middletown Middle School appears in the Dec. 2 newspapers listing second honors for Kathryn Wickless, Matthew Williams, Michelle Wilson, Christopher Wise, and Robert Wynne II. Fire calls over the past 24 hours ending at 3 p.m. included automatic alarms at 7215 Corporate Court and 7213 Corporate Court in Lewistown and Thurmont. Lottery and play numbers are 9-7-7, 509, and 1416-25-23-33.

Snow flurries foreseen in Frederick County forecast
The National Weather Service says a passing front may bring light snow flurries to Frederick County on Saturday with little or no accumulation. Strong northwest winds and moisture from the Great Lakes could cause snow squalls in higher elevations, while Garrett County and parts of West Virginia and Pennsylvania face winter alerts. Temperatures are expected to fall to around 30 by Saturday morning, with highs near 30s later in the day.

National Guard to end 1 295 patrol
National Guard troops protecting motorists on 1 295 will depart by Sunday after an outbreak of sniper fire and rock throwing. Sheriff McMillan says the threat has been reduced and the last attack occurred three weeks ago. The state lifted the travel warning, and guardsmen were reduced to patrols.
