Unemployment rate drops to 7.2 percent in November
The government reported the national unemployment rate fell to 7.2 percent in November, the fifth straight decline and the lowest since April. In Frederick County the jobless rate dropped to 5.0 percent in October from 5.4 percent, with 79,236 in the civilian labor force. Total payrolls rose by 105,000 to 108.6 million, aided in part by 45,000 temporary election workers. manufacturing turned around with a 35,000 gain after a prior 200,000 drop.
