Full Docket Halts Setting Trial Date
Circuit Court Judge Robert E. Clapp Jr. said he cannot set trial dates in three marijuana cases due to a full docket through December and January. Weathermen Seized In Bomb Plot
Three men and three girls described as Weatherman radicals were arrested outside an East Side bank as detectives said they prepared to bomb the bank. The group planned the act to commemorate the death of two Black Panthers in a Chicago police raid. They were living as drunks in ragged clothes while police had watched them for months. One member said the plan included a series of bombings beginning with the murder of Fred Hampton and chose New York City because President Nixon was to visit.
