Cummins Hart Construction Company of Baltimore won the bid to build a three story reinforced concrete structure on East Patrick street to house Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone dial equipment. Western Electric will install the equipment and employees will convert home instruments. The project budget is $1.5 million with completion expected by early summer 1952, enabling Frederick to switch to dial service in spring 1953. Local bidders Lloyd C. Culler Frederick Construction Company and R Patrick Turner submitted bids.

Two Taxicab Drivers Are Found Murdered
Newport News Virginia December 3 two taxicab drivers were slain over the weekend in the tidewater area. Police listed robbery as the motive and said the killings were the work of a maniac. Luther M Callis a double amputee was found in Warwick County with an ice pick and auto jack nearby. Anthony Michael a World War III veteran was discovered in a ditch five miles away. State Grange Meet To Open Here Tuesday
The Maryland State Grange opens its 77th annual meeting at 16 0 a m Tuesday in the Francis Scott Key Hotel. About 200 delegates are expected to register for sessions through Thursday. Edward F. Injunction Sought Over Barricaded Mine Road Access
A mandatory injunction is sought to force two defendants to remove barriers and keep open a historic county road leading to mining lands in Johnsville district. Two Autos Stolen Here Are Recovered
Two cars stolen from city streets in the past week have been recovered. The Oldsmobile sedan owned by Donald Shoemaker of B and O Avenue, taken from the 200 block of West Patrick Street, was found in Walfordsburg Pennsylvania near MacConnellsburg. The Dodge sedan owned by Charles Brust, stolen from West Church Street, was found in North Carolina and returned. No arrests were made and Shoemaker is being notified.

Eight Deer Slain First Day Of Season
Hunters were out in force but kills were comparatively few in Frederick county on opening day of the six day deer season. Eight deer reported at Lewistown station by noon led by Chester L. Grove whose 130 pound eight point buck was shot between Thurmont and Emmitsburg.

In Chicago on December 3 at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange wholesale egg prices fell significantly. U S extras, the top grade, sold for 61 cents a dozen, down 7 cents from Friday and 14 cents from four weeks earlier, 20 cents off the Nov. 15 peak of 72 cents.
