White House study warns states struggle to meet school building needs
Washington November 30 The White House conference on education accepted a report finding few states ready to fund five years of school building needs though delegates stressed no state demonstrated inability to raise money. The Beling Rowley report said only two or three states could meet needs, others faced obstacles. Federal aid discussed but not resolved. A separate note covers a curious wildlife incident in West Virginia and Maryland unemployment claims, with 2,160 new claims last week and notable activity around Hagerstown and Eastern Shore sectors.
