Repaving closes some I-70 lanes east of Frederick
State Highway Administration officials say repaving I-70 east of Frederick will finish in about two months. Workers remove the top 1.5 inches of center-lane pavement from Ijamsville Road to the Carroll County line while the left lane is closed for safety. Genstar won the $546,000 contract and the new layer is expected to last seven years before a possible further repave. The work uses recycled asphalt and is scheduled for off-peak hours to minimize traffic disruption.
