Escaped U.S. Fair Rep Returns to Promote American Agriculture
Charles Leidenforst, Maryland Extension Service agent, returns from eight years in Hungary to represent the United States at the International Trade Fair in Zagreb. He will run a large museum like pavilion and speak on extension work with Maryland farmers and families. He travels August 20 to Vienna with fellow Extension engineer Guy Gienger.

In 1803 Meriwether Lewis and William Clark set out from the Ohio River on an expedition sponsored by President Jefferson to foster relations with Native Americans and boost U S trade. In 1864 at Jonesboro Georgia the Confederate Army of Tennessee led by General John Bell Hood absorbed about 1400 casualties in a battle.
