Local blood donors best in world in Frederick County
James A. Grove, chairman of the county Red Cross blood program, praised a Frederick church blood drive where 200 donors gave 180 pints on Red Rose Day. Walk ins totaled 132 pints with 32 from scheduled donors, including 32 first timers and a teen donor. Wilma Emmert marked her 50th pint as Monica Emmert, on her 17th birthday, made her first donation. Juice and donuts accompanied the event.
