Airport dance revives World War era nostalgia night
More than 1,100 attendees in Frederick gathered in a hangar for a Glenn Miller era dance with WWII uniforms and WW I Canteen style food ration coupons. Ed Walker hosted, Bertha Kennedy organized the event marking her and Marvin Kennedy's 40th anniversary as veterans and families toured WWI memorabilia and spoke with Red Cross supporters.

FOP clashes over open bargaining session in Frederick
FOP President Kevin Grubb received notice of an open session by mail on Aug 23 but officers were off duty. Officer Grubb learned of public meeting via television and stated the FOP seeks open bargaining. Cpl Ledwell compared pay and attrition, noting 92 officers left in 10 years with 27 to other agencies and 23 retirees, and 10 of 15 academy recruits remaining.
