Brunswick High Class of 1954 Holds Ten Year Reunion
Brunswick High School Class of 1954 held a covered dish picnic at D Richard Wirts home near Rosemont. Sixteen of forty four classmates attended with families, memory booklets were shared, and the group planned to raise funds over five years for another reunion. Dr Fred Brown spoke. four teachers attended with families as guests of honor.

Community class honors volunteers at picnic and booklet plans
Appreciation was expressed to Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Virts and Richard for time and energy. A committee of Mrs Barbara Gaither, Mrs Nancy Smith, Mrs Charlotte Stewart, Bob Halley and Richard Virts completed picnic and booklet plans. Seventy persons attended with guests Dr. and Mrs Fred Brown and others. The pearl is best preserved by wearing as skin moisture keeps pearls from drying out.

Thurmont sidewalk project advances at East Main Street
The new 550 foot sidewalk on the north side of East Main Street near the elementary school was completed yesterday replacing old macadam. The project cost about 3000 dollars based on curb and gutter footage and sidewalk area. Austin Harris, a Frederick contractor, led the excavation and began work on the next improvement today.

Road and development work near elementary school area
About ten days ago an entrance was graded and improvements prepared for future Hammaker Development. Roads will be laid out behind the elementary school with guttering and curbing on East Main and Water Street. Grading costs are about 4000 dollars, contracted to W. F. Delauter of Thurmont, funded by the State Roads Commission.

Flights Cancelled by Strike Hit Baltimore Flights
AP reports maintenance and ground service workers strike led to cancellation of two Pan American flights through Friend ship Airport to Europe and Puerto Rico. Ten passengers were booked to Paris and forty to Puerto Rico from Baltimore.
