Sewer System Goes Into Use For Frederick
The first sewage run from Frederick to the new disposal plant occurred today as some house connections were finished. The plant itself is not yet operating and likely won’t be for weeks. Several hundred homes must connect before operation justifies full use, says City Engineer Elmer St C Maxwell. The incinerating unit has operated a few hours daily for three months, says plant superintendent Arthur Culler. Fifteen permits for sewer connections had been issued by plumbing inspector Edward S Mobley, with the first to Charles E Baker and the first resident request by Mrs Marion F Houck. Several more properties await inspection. permission to use connected fixtures is granted and sewage is diverted to Carroll creek for now.
