An auto plunged into Fell Street harbor in Baltimore early today, drowning 30 year old Richard C. McCleary. Passenger William H. Rea, 28, escaped, was arrested after minor injuries at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and denied the shooting charge leveled at the occupants.

Missing Flyer Found After Harrowing Mountain Crash
Lieut. Cyrus K. Bettis of the army air corps, missing since Monday, was found alive in the Seven Sisters mountains near Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. He is in Centra county hospital with a broken leg, fractured skull, facial injuries, and exhaustion but is not in critical condition. Bettis crawled 5.5 hours through dense brush to a road, aided by two highway workers touring from Lewistown to Bellefonte, as his two fellow pilots searched Seven Mountains for the wreckage. The crash occurred in fog while en route from Philadelphia to Selfridge Field, Michigan, about 20 miles southeast of Bellefonte.

Hearing After Wreck Leads to Arrests in County
After a southern county wreck, Marsha Allen, described as colored, was arrested by Deputy Horace Radcliffe and faces a hearing before Justice Guy K. Motter this evening. Charged with permitting reckless operation, it is unclear which of Allen’s two sons drove the car. The vehicle struck H. G. Cosgrove’s car. no injuries but minor damage occurred. Charges were filed by State Police Sergeant Ro Al Atkinson.
