Family from Botswana finds new home through Habitat
Kyando and Maria Kufuna, refugees from Botswana via Angola and a UN camp, settle in Montgomery County with St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and Habitat for Humanity. The family, including four children and a later fifth named Roger, receives an interest free four bedroom house on Chandlee Mill Road. Kyando seeks full time work with benefits as Maria adjusts to American life and language while children adapt to school and Sesame Street.
