Washington Aug 23 By the Associated Press breeding a dairy cow yielding enough milk to feed 30 children daily has been achieved at Beltsville Maryland. A six cow herd averages over 22 000 pounds of milk per year providing a quart daily for 170 children. Good breeding and feeding boost dairy profits, bone and muscle formation for children, with poultry culling also improving breeds and egg production. Late moulting hens from Rhode Island Reds yielded about two dozen extra eggs per bird in seven months, with more even distribution and higher winter production and value.
