Crown of gold jewels found in bank box near Towson statue
A priest discovers a solid gold crown studded with diamonds rubies and emeralds missing since the 1960s. The ornate piece intended for the 414-foot statue of the Virgin Mary at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Towson was set to be returned after a 25 year disappearance. The crown, valued at £9,000, surfaced in a Nations Bank safe deposit box with questions about its prior safekeeping and loss.
