Neighbors oppose shelter move citing noise and proximity
Ms. Riley defends a women’s shelter near Carroll Street and Jefferson Street arguing near transit is essential. Neighbors push to relocate to a secluded country site, questioning the 100 foot setback and urban development use while noting disruption concerns in a 50 foot wide lot neighborhood. The shelter would house 15 beds and 4 cribs with three staff on duty, rear entrances, and more space than the current home.
