Driving Violations Land Man Over Two Years In Jail

David John Kline, 30, of Old Annapolis Road, was sentenced to more than two years after a Frederick County jury found him guilty of driving while revoked, fleeing police, ignoring a red light and stop sign, and speeding on West South Street. Judge William Wenner called him an absolute public nuisance and noted prior revocations and probation failures spanning 15 years. The case highlighted prosecutors' failure to charge him as a subsequent offender, while defense urged probation or work release.

Floating zone eyed for Mount Airy first professional office complex

Mount Airy planning officials set a special Aug 23 meeting to discuss a floating zone that could permit Frall Developers to build the Ridgeville Business Center, a nine‑lot professional office complex on 7.5 acres between Md 808 and Md 27. The idea follows a rezoning request withdrawal and aims to allow offices in town where R‑3 land is exhausted.
