Hearing On Cruelty To Chicken Slated Mt Airy
Ex hibition of a chicken in a five gallon glass jar will bring Rev. Frank E Willar before Westminster Police Court next Wednesday. An agent of the Maryland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals filed the charge after the exhibitor showed the chicken at his Westminster poultry establishment. Willar said the exhibit aimed to prove that a chick en given proper sunlight fed a balanced diet and raised under sanitary conditions would weigh more in a set period than a fowl raised under less favorable circumstances.

Borrowed Car Wrecked Injuring Two Frederick Men
Two Frederick men driving a borrowed car were injured Friday night when their vehicle slammed into a telephone pole at Plane No. 4 after being sideswiped by a large tractor-trailer that did not stop. The occupants were James Redmond and Terrence Melane. Bazh sustained cuts and scrapes, treated at Frederick Hospital and released. Police reported the incident but could not identify the hit-and-run truck. The car was borrowed from Mrs Mamie Summers of Frederick.
