Resigning Marta Holden Leaves Advocates for the Homeless
Marta Holden will step down as director of Advocates for the Homeless Inc. at end of October to spend more time with her five children. The organization, created in 1988 from All Saints Episcopal Church outreach, runs six transitional apartments for single mothers and assists families in need, growing from 35 families helped in its early days to over 90 in 1991. Holden, the founder’s early volunteer then first director, will also resign from Housing Commission and the Frederick County Coalition for the Homeless to make a clean break.
