Joseph L Bristow Kansan Senate Candidate Named
The Kansas senatorial candidate Joseph L Bristow rose to prominence after leading a postal inquiry in the federal cabinet. Born in Kentucky in 1861 he studied at Harvard University and pursued journalism before entering politics as private secretary to Governor Morrill. He befriended William McKinley and helped secure his presidential endorsement during the Kansas Republican convention.

Jewels Missing From Commodore Bourne Estate at Oakdale
In Oakdale New York, jewels valued at about $50 000 disappeared from a treasure room in Commodore Bourne's mansion. The room, built with the house, housed jewels worn by Bourne’s daughters Marion Marjorie and Mordico at society events. Bricks and Clubs in Race Fight at Chicago Dockyard
