He farmed before World War II part of Fort Detrick, worked for Sears and the Maryland State Roads Commission, and held multiple Masonic and charity memberships. Survived by son Irving Werner Thomas and Kathleen, sister Lillian Lynn, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services Aug 22 at Mount Olivet Cemetery officiated by Rev Matthew P Brown with viewing Aug 21 at Keeney Basford Funeral Home. Memorials preferred to a charity of choice.

Tragedy Strikes Gaithersburg Family In Fatal Apartment Attack
A restraining order had been issued after a fatal stabbing in Gaithersburg. The victim, a devoted mother of four, worked at McDonald’s and sent money home to El Salvador.
