Deliberations to Begin in Echols Rape Murder Trial
In Rockville, the Montgomery County Circuit Court jury faces a high profile case as closing arguments wrap in the Tyree Echols rape murder trial. Prosecutor McCarthy links Echols to a 1995 arrest and a violent pattern, urging a guilty verdict on first degree murder and rape. Defense argues the similarities are unfounded and questions McCallum's credibility. If convicted, Echols faces a life sentence with possible parole. The jury will resume deliberations tomorrow.
