Mrs. MacLeod notes that the conservation practices from 1948 on the Thrasher farm are managed today by the Lakin family who still use crop rotation and diversions to curb erosion. Dozens recollect field day attendance, with Ray Valentine supervising pond construction and Henry Shoemaker praising the event as a model demonstration to farmers and city folks alike.
