F Wilson and Sarah L Spencer Wims marked their 50th wedding anniversary on May 1 with vow renewal on June 13 at the Damascus American Legion in Damascus. About 350 guests attended a buffet reception hosted by daughters Frances Foreman and Patricia Thorne with son in law R Leroy Foreman. The groom’s brother Lester Wims served as best man and bride’s niece Rose Drakeford was maid of honor. The couple reside in Germantown and he works for Rentals Unlimited in Clarksburg.

Over 100 friends attended as their children led a memories program with Lynn Ausherman as emcee. A letter from Rev. Robert Sherry joined the event. he married the couple on May 29 1937 at the same church. Attendants included Francis Biddinger Jr and Nancarl Danner. The couple have 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and live near Walkersville.
