Maryland archivist wins NGA distinguished service award

Maryland State Archivist Edward C. Papenfuse Jr. received one of the National Governors Association’s annual awards for distinguished service to state governments. Cited for 15 years of work organizing and maintaining archives spanning 350 years of political, economic, and social life, he was among five state officials and five private citizens honored at the NGA ceremony in Boise, Idaho.
