Transmission towers amendment defeated by county planning panel
The Frederick County Planning Commission unanimously denied a text amendment by the Mount Pleasant Community Awareness Group that would push transmission towers 2,500 feet farther from adjacent property lines. Experts warned the rule would stifle radio and cable TV growth. local business representatives urged rejection, arguing it would impede service delivery and could curb county development. The three hour plus hearing concluded with a commissioner calling the proposal selfish and designed to eliminate what residents dislike.
