County planners clear way for Mt Airy annexation

The Frederick County Planning Commission unanimously backed Mount Airy westward expansion proposing annexation of a 50 acre site owned by Ronald and Kathryn Bassett. The plan requires phasing construction to protect schools and upgrades to water and sewer, with the town to provide most services and maintain water recharge. The Mount Airy Town Council will vote on Sept 9.
