Thurmont Elementary expansion under way increases capacity to 720
The first stage of a 1.4 million expansion adds a gymnasium and classroom complex while a courtyard becomes a media center and second grade learning area. Capacity rises from 530 to 720 and construction is five percent complete. Fourth and third grades are temporarily housed off site. East Main Street paving proceeds by state and local firms.

Talks continue on Y and F plans
