Union Rescue Mission aids homeless men in Frederick
The Frederick Union Rescue Mission provides two meals and a dry, safe shelter at 2005 Market St for up to 20 men nightly, with a two dollar nightly charge after two free stays. Rev. Charles C. Shell leads the mission, which runs on gospel services and donations from furniture and clothing sales. The facility operates with five staff and up to 410 program men, and relies on low prices and voluntary price-setting, with plans for an Alcoholics Victorious program.
