Parole ruling may free Rodgers in Mandel case
Federal magistrate Crongeyer ordered the parole commission to reverse itself and release Harry W. Rodgers after he serves no more than 16 months of a three year sentence. Rodgers, convicted in 1977 with Marvin Mandel and six others of mail fraud and racketeering, is housed at a federal prison near Eglin Air Force Base. Mandel’s lawyers have been monitoring the case since June when Rodgers challenged parole guidelines.
