Frederick boy killed by truck and Baltimore youth drowns
Two tragedies occurred in Frederick County on Tuesday afternoon. Five-year-old Danny Michael Brustad was struck by a tractor trailer on East Seventh Street and died at Frederick Memorial Hospital. The drowning victim, 14-year-old Charles Benjamin Marshall TI of Baltimore, was found at the bottom of a Mount Saint Mary's College pool.

Architect chosen for B&O Station restoration project
Local architect Louis Battistone will be hired next week to draw plans and specifications for renovating the B and O Railroad Station. He will also study two dilapidated houses at 102 and 104 S. Market St to gut and rebuild into five low income apartments. The city authorized a contract totaling 8,500 dollars for the architect’s work while current funds of 105,000 dollars will phase construction due to shortfall.

County jobless rate among lowest in state
Frederick County posted a 4.6 percent average unemployment for 1975-76, the fourth lowest in Maryland. Calvert County led the state at 2.9 percent, with St. Mary’s and Montgomery counties close behind. In June the county’s rate dropped to 3.2 percent.
